Ethabuka Trek

Last year was a boom year on Ethabuka. The drenching rain and floods of 2010 produced an immense increase in vegetation and the animals responded accordingly - and the 'big wet' is continuing with the heavy rain that fell in March 2011. Last year, in the south-east corner of Ethabuka, an area peppered with stunning claypans and mesas a number of small mammal species turned up after a long absence.  On this trek we will be visiting some of these areas to monitor how these critters are going, and to see whether any more new species have turned up!
